About the Socus Art Foundation
Socus Art Foundation is a youth-led, non-profit organization that believes art has the power to transform lives and communities.
Founded by Souran, the organisation emerged from lived experiences of growing up in underserved communities and discovering confidence, leadership, and hope through circus arts.
Today, Socus Art uses creative learning methods to empower children and young people with life skills, leadership, communication, and social awareness. We create safe spaces where children learn, express themselves, build confidence, and become advocates for positive change.
Our work combines circus arts, education, leadership development, mental wellbeing, and community engagement to help children realise their full potential.
Why the organisation was started
Socus Art Foundation was born from a simple but powerful observation.
Many children growing up in underserved communities begin to accept hardship as their normal way of life. Limited access to quality education, safe places to play, proper healthcare, clean environments, and opportunities for growth often become part of their everyday reality. Over time, many stop believing that a different future is possible.
We wanted to change that belief

The name “Socus Art” comes from our belief in the power of circus art as a tool to create awareness, confidence, and positive transformation in society.
Through circus arts, we empower children to understand and speak about their rights—including the right to education, the right to play, the right to clean water, and the right to safe and proper living conditions.
Socus Art Foundation uses circus arts and creative learning as powerful tools for social change, empowering children and young people from underserved communities to build confidence, develop leadership, understand their rights, and become active changemakers in their communities.
We work to:
- Empower children through circus arts and creative learning
Create safe, inclusive spaces where children can learn, play, express themselves, discover their talents, and develop confidence, teamwork, and leadership. - Amplify children’s voices and promote their rights
Use performance, storytelling, and participatory arts to help children understand and speak about their rights, including education, play, health, clean water, and safe living conditions. - Support education and holistic development
Complement learning with communication, English-speaking, life-skills, wellbeing, and leadership programmes that help children navigate real-world challenges and access future opportunities. - Turn creativity into advocacy and social change
Transform children’s lived experiences into creative expression that raises awareness, encourages dialogue, connects communities, and promotes positive action around local issues and the Sustainable Development Goals. - Build a sustainable movement of young leaders
Develop children and young people as future trainers, mentors, artists, and community leaders – training children today so that children can become trainers tomorrow.
Training children today — children becoming trainers tomorrow
A society where every child is seen, heard, valued, and empowered to reach their full potential – regardless of their background – using the power of art, creativity, and community to build confidence, dignity, inclusion, and positive social change.
